With todays economy people are so depressed they are commiting suicide.
Preventing these acts is soon becoming a critical task for our society.
Teenagers is one group that need the most help. The numbers are shocking of teenage suicide.
Catching the signs of depression and anxiety and stress symptoms in the early stages is so important. The sooner you get them help the better off that person will be.
Statistics on Suicide
- Teenage suicide for the age group 15-24 years of age in the United
States are 7.9 per 100,000. If you live in a large city such as New York that would be 1300 suicides a year.
- In the United States suicide is the third leading cause of death in people 15-24 years old.
- There are 31,000 suicides a year in the United States.
- All over the world there are about a million people that commit suicide a year.

Causes of Suicide
The following are some of the causes of suicide. These groups of people are considered a high risk to commit suicide themselves.
- Children left behind after a suicide
- Children and grandchildren of adults 65 years of age or older who are widowed or cronically ill
- Children/grandchildren of spousal abuse
- Classmates and siblings of teenage suicide, especially males 15-24 years of age
- Teens engaging in high risk sexual or drug behaviors
- Friend and young family memebers of those who suffer from mental illness
- Friends and family members of those who have attempted suicide in the past.
- People who have been sexually abused
People commiting suicide is high all around the world.

For every suicide there are scores of family and friends that are left behind to deal with the death.
They are devistated and have to try and find ways to cope. Some cannot handle the death and commit suicide themselves. It can be a vicious cycle.
If there is someone in your family or a friend who commits suicide, please seek professional help . If you see the warning signs of suicide in someone, please, please get them help.
Even if it means having them committed to a mental health hospital. You will be helping them, not huring them! They may not see it that way at the time, but they will thank you later!
